Risks & Voluntary Participation
Active breathwork can be a powerful experience, that's why we offer it! And the vast majority of participants report a positive experience. However, no meaningful activity occurs without risks. By agreeing to this consent form the participant releases the facilitator of all liability if any mental, emotional or physical distress or injury occurs during the event. The facilitator cannot guarantee that breathwork is for everyone and any participant experiencing injury or distress should speak with the facilitator during or after the event if they require additional support or guidance.
Participation in active breathwork is discouraged for individuals with a history of cardiovascular disease, angina, heart attacks, high blood pressure, glaucoma, retinal detachment, osteoporosis, recent significant physical injuries or surgery. It is not recommended for those with severe mental illness, psychosis, seizure disorders, or a history of aneurysms. Pregnant individuals should consult their physician and obtain approval before engaging in breathwork. By acknowledging or having personal experience with any of the mentioned health issues and agreeing to this consent form, you absolve the facilitator of any potential liabilities that may result from an injury or distress.
Psychotherapy & Breathwork
Breathwork can be a powerful experience for those enrolled in psychotherapy since the experience can result in intense energetic release, emotional release and/or the amplification of various emotions, physical sensations, stories or memories that can allow for further processing. However, participants should be aware that this group breathwork event is not a group psychotherapy session and does not fall under the category of psychotherapy. Participants must ensure they have adequate support systems in place to process their experience and receive assistance if the breathwork event leads to distress.
Mindset & Some Gratitude
Breathwork is special. By participating in this event you are choosing to honour and respect yourself and others. Approach the experience with an open mind, an open heart, and attentiveness to your body. Push yourself when you can, but if the need arises to be still or ease off, trust your instinct. This event offers an opportunity to strengthen your connection with yourself. Thanks for being here!
